For assignment 2 I was tasked with producing a black and white image in the design program Photoshop. This assignment was again another practice on drawing proportions of a human character but on top of that it was practice with the basic tools of Photoshop. The hand in will include a single character in black and white.
We were given the choice of hand drawing the image, then scanning it in; or just working straight into Photoshop, I decided to work straight into Photoshop as I am already familiar with its layout and tools.
I enjoyed this assignment as it was focusing on what I enjoyed doing. As it was just to create a single image in Photoshop in black and white, I was confident that I would be able to excell at it.
I am very happy with the outcome of this assignment as I was more relaxed as I was drawing this character, which I think led to its better quality. There are still areas that need improvement; I still need to work on proportions more, although it is not as much of a problem in this drawing as it was in the previous assignment, but something else I realised was the amount of time I was taking to finish the drawing, I think it took me far too long to complete this image, this is a problem I will be trying to address in later assignments.
