This assignemnt introduced me to the idea of using silhouettes to create character ideas before continuing with a single idea, this creative process shows promise as it allows the creator to go through multiple ideas with ease and quickly so that they dont spend too long trying to develop a character just to change it later on. This assignment asked that I create two finished drawings that are coloured that started from a silhouette, this gave me practice at using this process whilst also utilising everything I have already learnt from the previous assignments.
The silhouettes I designed went through a few changes as I went through the design process, the details were more difficult than usual to draw onto the line art as I am not used to using silhouettes to set out a characters shape.
This assignment was more difficult than previous assignments as it took me out my usual working process, although I understand and see how useful the silhouette process can be, it will take a lot of work before I am completely ready to use it on a regular basis. The designs themselves are average at best because I didn't fully know what I was going to create, the second character is far better than the first in my opinion as it seems more well put together.
